Oldbury Court is a beautiful and diverse estate with parkland covering over 300 acres combining woodland, riverside paths and plenty of green spaces. The route we’ve chosen allows you to take in all the sights of the estate as you follow the winding paths down to the River Frome and through open walkways. It is very popular due to its varied landscape and panoramic views and is a great place for a family day out. There are also several picnic areas for once you have finished the run to sit and enjoy the rest of your day.
It is only three miles from the city centre in the Fishponds area of the City, which you’ll find hard to believe that you are so close to the centre of a bustling city, on a run that could see you catch a glimpse of many local wildlife including kingfishers, herons, foxes and even deer!
There is parking at the site, but we advise car sharing or looking at alternatives such as cycling, walking or using public transport which is easily accessible.
Unable to take part but would still like to be involved? Volunteers will be a key part of the event team; in the lead up to the event and on the day. There are various activities that you can get involved with as a volunteer depending on the skills you want to contribute or develop. These activities include;
- Event promotion
- Race marshalling
- Getting people covered in paint at the paint stations
- Cheering runners on at the start and finish line
If you’re interested in volunteering at The Colour Fun Run it would be great to hear from you! Please visit the contact page and get in touch.
